La zone peut former un pôle touristique reliant le projet de parc thématique aérospatial du Jeollanam-do, le centre spatial de Naro et la plage de Namyeol. Sa proximité avec la zone spéciale Goheung Woori Ocean Resort offre d'excellentes synergies. Située sur l'itinéraire de la route côtière de l'ouest et du sud et concernée par les ponts reliant Yeosu à Goheung et les îles voisines, elle devrait bénéficier d'un meilleur accès et d'un fort pouvoir d'attraction. La capacité prévue est d'environ 100 bateaux, dont 50 à flot et 50 à terre. La pêche est interdite autour du chantier de la marina.
Le climat maritime y est très marqué, avec de nombreuses plantes de zone chaude. La température annuelle moyenne est de 13,5 °C, la température moyenne de janvier de 1,2 °C, celle d'août de 25,8 °C, et les précipitations annuelles de 1 452,4 mm.
Au sud de So-okdaedo, les courants de flot et de jusant atteignent chacun 0,7 kn. Autour du port de Nangdo, au nord-est de la marina, ils atteignent chacun 0,9 kn.
